four hands – artists in etched glass
Jo studied fine art sculpture at Staffordshire University, graduating with a first class BA Hons. On leaving college she worked for a model making company in Hertfordshire sculpting the original models for cartoon characters that were to be mass produced. After 3 years Jo left to combine teaching with a small part time glass etching business. Part time became full time & Jo began a larger scale business operating from workshop premises in Watford where her grandfather & father used to run a shoe repair business for over 50 years. With mother involved with bookkeeping & deliveries it was a real family business.
9 years later and with business booming Jo's partner Adam came fully on board too, applying business skills from his corporate background whilst learning the etching processes. Together they formed ‘four hands’ & after a very successful 2007, this year sees further expansion with exhibitions at over 25 events in 2008.
You can also see 'four hands' at selected shops & galleries countrywide. For those in the West Sussex area there is a permenant display available in Findon (please contact to make an appointment) or a smaller range at English Country Crafts, Nineveh House in Arundel, Bosham Walk Craft Centre, Bosham & the Rose Green Centre in Aldwick.
